In many developed countries, cancer care is rapidly becoming unaffordable.  New technologies, newer treatments, new drug formulations for cancer and other factors are contributing to the growing costs.  With treatment cost rising too high, is making it a difficult choice for the patients whether to undergo treatment at such high costs or to seek alternate healthcare services in other countries such as Singapore, India, Malaysia, Thailand and other Asian countries.  These countries not only have world class hospitals, but also are  affordable compared to developed nations.

In a recent report by Richard Sullivan of Britain’s King’s Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre in London has highlighted that policy-makers, doctors, patients groups and the health industry should work together to find ways to stem future cost rises.

For many cancer patients Asian countries such as Singapore, India, Malaysia, and Thailand offering  cancer treatment at very affordable rates is giving hope to many.  The number of patients coming to Asia is growing every year and it is not only the cost, it is also about quality healthcare they get at one third price or even lesser.  Favorable climate, scenic and multiple vacation options, and affordable tourism are adding to the patient migration to Asian countries.
