Medical Tourism for Underinsured

An underinsured person is one who has health insurance but spends a big portion of her/his income on out of pocket health expenses. According to a recent article in USA Today, around 25 million American adults are underinsured, an increase of 60% from 2003 to 2007.

High deductibles, co-payments and out of pocket expenses have forced many people to look at medical tourism as an alternative.
